WestHill Park Choral Day
Wed 12 Jul 2017On Thursday 6th July 2017, Year 6 and some of the Key Stage Choir were invited to sing at West Hill Park Choral Day. The children spent the day practising, with the aid of a live band and the support of the West Hill Park music teachers. The children were able to enjoy the school's extensive grounds and were invited to eat in their café at lunchtime. The day ended with a concert for parents. The children were fabulous and had a great deal of fun learning new songs and performing as part of a larger choir of over 100 children. The children sang Shooting Star by Owl City; Beauty and the Beast- Disney; Fix You by Coldplay; Every Time I Feel the Spirit - Gospel; Don't Worry About Me by Frances and Best Day of my Life by American Authors. A particular well done to Archie and Lauren who sang solo parts for Don't Worry About Me. This was a first for St Jude's, but if invited again we will definitely be attending. A big thank you to Mrs Crane who leads the choir and is always looking for opportunities for them to perform. -
The Key Stage 2 Summer Show - The Coin Collection
Wed 12 Jul 2017Over the last few days and nights, Key Stage 2 have been impressing their audiences with popular songs from the charts as part of their end of year performance. The show: The Coin Collection written by Mrs McKnight and Miss Crouch, takes us on a journey around the world led by the characters Ben (Harry Wright) and Molly (Jessica Wylde). The two children find a box in their shed of coins collected by their grandfather, who was once in the Navy. As you would expect from a man who had travelled the world, he collected many coins from far and wide, Africa to Ibiza to name a few! The children have had great fun learning the songs and performing in the show. We hope you had the opportunity to enjoy it.
