EYFS Curriculum
Please read the following information for further details relating to the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and Curriculum.
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Our curriculum covers seven areas of learning and development.
Personal Social and Emotional Development
Communication and Language
Physical Development
Literacy
Mathematics
Understanding the World
Expressive Arts and Design
We ensure that we provide a broad range of adult led and child initiated activities to promote learning. Our curriculum is built on a firm foundation of child development, with children’s interests at the heart of all we do. We appreciate that every child develops differently and our ‘in the moment planning’ allows us to personalise and develop each child’s learning journey.
Children learn through play. We create a place to learn by providing a wide selection of resources and activities. The term ‘continuous provision’ describes resources that are available to children at all times both indoors and outdoors.
There are 12 areas of ‘continuous provision’ that we provide in the pre-school:
Construction
Games and puzzles
Mark making
Role play
Book area
Sand
Water
Painting
Small world
Creative area
Malleable materials
Investigation and discovery
Tapestry
All children attending pre-school have a personal online Learning Journal (Tapestry account) where observations, photographs and videos are recorded relating to their learning and development.
Parents have their own personal login details to their child's account once children start pre-school.
