PE
"A high-quality physical education curriculum inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities. It should provide opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. Opportunities to compete in sport and other activities build character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect." (National Curriculum)
Physical Education
St Jude’s delivers Physical Education with the aim of developing healthy and well-educated children. Physical Education is a tool to not only improve the physical development of children, but also a tool through which the children can develop personal and character skills and traits of collaboration, leadership, respect and fair play. St Jude’s has a strong sporting tradition, taking part in a variety of sports through intra and inter-school-tournaments.
At St Jude’s we also believe that Physical Education provides a great opportunity to develop and encourage healthy lifestyles and habits.
We work in collaboration with staff from Superstar Sports, who deliver one lesson per week for each year group in both key stages. The class teacher delivers the second lesson of the week.
Swimming is taught at Fareham Leisure Centre for one year group each year for approx 10 weeks.
Active After-School clubs are offered by the staff of St Jude's and all pupils are encouraged to participate.
Superstar Sports staff also offer after-school clubs of football for children in key stage 2 and dance for both key stage 1 and key stage 2.

Inter School Festivals and Tournaments
Well done to the Year 5 & Year 6 pupils who attend Henry Cort in February to participate in the hockey tournament with 5 local schools. It is great to be back out competing against other teams and celebrating sport! Thank you to Mr. Norton for his endless encouragement, support, belief and motivation.
