Faith in Action

Following our Faith in Action focus, we established our Oscar Romero rangers. Information about our Oscar Romero Rangers can be found here:

FAITH IN ACTION

STEWARDSHIP - JUSTICE - PASSION

The 6 children who are working towards their Faith In Action Award are:

Alano, Jewel, Josh, Megan, Oskar and Yasmin

Megan likes horse riding and spending time with her family.  She's got an open mind and respects other people's beliefs.

Jewel likes elephants and wolves.  She likes to play games and draw in her spare time. She is kind and helpful.

Josh likes to play computer games.  He is an altar server at church.  He said he will help the community.

Oskar likes playing with his dog and taking care of her.  He also likes gaming.  He likes helping people.

Yasmin - likes to look after animals, go on bike rides, play with friends and go swimming.  When she has a good idea, she will tell Mrs Wall, and she think she will make a good role model.

Alano - likes reading books, mountain biking and sport.  He hopes he is a good role model and he tries to be as kind as possible to everyone.

Faith in Action children

On the 1st October, we celebrated Harvest Festival and we had an assembly as a whole school. Everyone from our school brought food and toiletries for the Acts of Kindness (AOK) local charity that helps local families who need a bit of extra help.  They brought in things such as: rice, pasta, toothpaste etc.

The people who set up the charity came in to school during an assembly and spoke to us about the reasons the charity was set up and the people who benefit from it.  We helped the founders fill up their cars with all the bags and boxes – you donated so much!  Thank you.

During the season of Advent, the whole school collected for AOK Reverse Advent Calendar.  Lots of families very generously donated food and toiletries and gifts that we could pass on to the charity.

A big thank you to everyone.

The Anointing Of The Sick Mass

In December 2021, the Faith in Action group attended a mass of anointing at St Philip Howard church.  We had made Christmas cards for all the parishioners who were there so that they wouldn't feel left out or lonely at Christmas.

Mass of the Anointing

We also went to church and made Christmas cards for people who aren't feeling very and who might not have no one to send them Christmas cards. They were for people who came into church and the people who drove them there.

MacMillan Afternoon - We raised £326.10!!! Thank you.

In the MacMillan coffee afternoon, we had lots of fun raising money and serving cake and hot drinks. Lots and lots of parents arrived and wanted to raise money for MacMillan Charity.  Thank you.

Christmas Jumpers

On Friday 10th December, we all wore a Christmas Jumper to school and we raised £187.61 - a lot of money! So thank you. Then we sent the money to a charity called

“Save The Children”

We had a great time and thank you again for all the  money that we raised. We  put a lot of money into that charity and we hope that we saved some children.

Wear Red To Stop Racism

On Friday 22nd October we all wore an item of red clothing to show support for the charity Wear Red to Stop Racism.  We had lessons in class to help us understand what racism is and how can help stop it.

Epiphany Mass

We had a liturgy about Epiphany and all of our group read the gospel and led the prayers. All the school councillors brought up a gift from their class to give to Jesus.  We are all going to try our hardest to live out our gift for the rest of the year.
