Welcome to Year 3
Dear Year 3 Families,
Since returning to school Year 3 have been very busy! We have continued our research about volcanoes and we have enjoyed reading our linked text called Escape from Pompeii. This story was a stimulus for writing our own stories about escaping from a volcanic eruption. We have been fascinated and horrified, (in equal measures), by the devastating effects that the eruption of Mount Vesuvius had on Pompeii, way back in 79AD.
We have really enjoyed learning about magnets through exploration and investigating different forces.
A huge well done to those children who were inspired to show off their creative skills by making a volcano (see photos below).
In addition, we have been thinking about resilience and how we can show this at different times, such as in our learning and when resolving friendship disagreements. We are all working hard to put into action what it means to be a good friend and how to listen to each other when we are explaining our feelings.
I hope that you all have a restful and happy Easter. Looking forward to seeing you all for the summer term!
