Butser Ancient Farm
As part of their Stone Age to Iron Age history study, Year 3 pupils visited Butser Ancient Farm. It was surprising how much they had already learnt from listening to the book, The Stolen Spear, and some non-fiction texts in guided reading!
They took part in: a tour of the site looking at different homes throughout the period; pinch pot making; using tools to crush chalk in order to make clunch to build a wall; and making cordage. Pupils asked some really interesting questions which we will try to answer during our learning.
