Tudor Artefact Exploring
We were very fortunate to have access to some replica Tudor artefacts. We handled the objects carefully and discussed what we thought may be the purpose of each one. We used some of our prior knowledge to explain what we thought some of the artefacts were. Many of us could confidently name the bellow, which was used to help light a fire. We were very surprised to learn that the 'pattens' were not worn as shoes, but they were worn over shoes, to protect people's footwear from mud and dirt. We were very surprised to read some of the rules for how children should behave!
