STEM week
Wow - what a fantastic time Year 1 have had celebrating STEM week! The theme this year was time. We were challenged with designing and creating a 30 second timer. The children started by exploring different ways to measure time (stopwatches, clocks, sand timers) and this sparked great, albeit some crazy, ideas for our own timer! The class voted on a water time. Using our knowledge of everyday materials, we decided to test different materials as to whether or not they are waterproof. The best one was plastic. The children created our timer and although it wasn't quite 30 seconds, we are still very proud!
