Nethercott Update
Day 5 at Nethercott:
Group 3 started the day visiting David's farm, Bridgetown, to feed the beef cattle. They thoroughly enjoyed their trailer ride through the fields and beside the river. As they have become more familiar with their surroundings, they are beginning to notice the abundant wildlife that exists in a rural environment.
Group 2 had a very exciting pig session! After the children had given the pigs their breakfast, the pigs escaped down the lane and had to be coaxed back into their pen, assisted by a wall of children wielding bread grates. It has to be said that the pigs and the piglets are one of the children's favourite animals and looking after them has provoked some thoughtful conversations about farm animals being bred for a purpose.
Group1 displayed real teamwork this afternoon, as they worked strenuously to move logs in preparation for Forest School activities.
All the children have expressed how pleased they are that they are here and so many of them have commented on all the new things they have experienced, from trying new food to making new friends.
