Week 1&2 - Autumn Term 2023
We have had a great start to the term. The new children have settled in well and our ‘older’ children have been superstars at making their new friends feel welcome. We have enjoyed 'catching up' with our families and getting to know our new families.
Our old conservatory has been replaced by a lean-to canopy which has made such a difference to our outdoor area. The classrooms now open directly to the outside and the roof offers protection from the sun and rain!
The children have really enjoyed water play outside during the past few weeks and have used a range of resources to make a water wall. They have also explored the climbing equipment and school field in the outdoor area. Block play, playdough and the role play area have been very popular inside.
During the next two weeks, our area of learning focus will be Personal, Social and Emotional Development. ‘The Rainbow Fish’ will be our main book focus and ‘If you’re happy and you know it’ will be our focus song. The children will take part in lots of activities relating to the area of learning focus and will also be taught new skills and knowledge relating to all areas of learning throughout the week.
We will start key group time on Monday 18th September which the children and staff really enjoy. During this time, the children work with their key person in small groups and take part in planned activities.
