Music - Autumn 1

Throughout the Autumn term we have been listening and appraising, playing and composing different types of music. Our main focus has been the song 'Let Your Spirit Fly' which we have learnt to sing and play along with using a glockenspiel. Whilst playing the glockenspiel we have worked in partners to ensure we are playing the correct notes on the appropriate beats. 

At the beginning of each lesson we listen and appraise a new piece of music. We answer questions about the dynamics, tempo, texture and the composition of the music and compare it to the song we are learning. Some of songs we have discussed are: Michael Jackson - Heal the World, Colonel Bogey March - Kenneth Alford, Consider Yourself - Oliver (musical) and Ain't No Mountain High Enough - Marvin Gaye. 

Below is a picture of the piece of music we composed as a class. We suggested ideas, listened and edited this piece of music until we were happy with the final piece!
