Trains
Lots of the children love playing with the trains, and it's a regular feature of their play - setting up the track in the small world area and arranging it in different ways with little people and animals around it. We decided we would focus on Trains for our learning and had a fantastic day out at a local miniature railway. The children were able to go on electric or the traditional steam trains, and quickly learnt the difference. They drew maps and spotted lots of different things around the train station. We had a wonderful time and a big thank you to all those volunteers who ran the morning just for us!
Train Paintings
We explored sending our own beebots along a track - but how could we make them go there and back? The children had to think carefully how to programme the toys. Could they double the length of the journey?
