Chicken Licken

This week we will be reading lots of different versions of Chicken Licken as we prepare for all the exciting things we are going to be doing.  Have a look at the plan of what the children will be learning this half term.

It's the New Year and this half term the children will be learning all about numbers 10-15 - how to count, read, order and write these numbers. We will be learning the names of 3D shapes and doing lots of junk modelling so please send in plenty of packaging, especially cardboard boxes.  We will focus on traditional stories - The Gingerbread Man,  The 3 little pigs and Goldilocks and the Three Bears, please look at these stories at home too.  Our class will be learning to tell them with actions to help them remember the sequence of the story.  In RE our theme will be Revelation, and hearing about what did Jesus did when he grew up and how he changed the lives of the people around him.  

This half term we are focusing on the "Charlie and Lola" books by Lauren Child.  They are perfect as a starting point for talking about worries about Starting school and school dinners!  We will be supporting the children in learning how to use the classroom, making friends, learning to take turns and share and be that little bit more independent than Pre-school.
