World Book Day 05.03.20
World Book Day
On 5th March 2020 we dressed up as our favourite book characters. It was great fun to see all sorts of characters - from wizards to superheroes, fairies to mischief makers and animals to queens. We created character profiles to describe our story characters. Year 2 love creating and writing their own stories, so in the afternoon we made our own books to write stories, or to retell favourite tales.
How could the day possibly be beaten? Well, the next day we got to come to school in our pyjamas! We loved listening to stories on a podcast (see links below), whilst drinking warm chocolate milk and eating a delicious biscuit. We read and shared stories with each other, snuggled up with our teddies.
The message being promoted by World Book Day to share stories is one that we fully support, as it is so important to hear stories. It is a great opportunity to lose ourselves in imaginative worlds and to listen to words that we might not otherwise hear or read for ourselves. Please take some time to listen to one of the podcasts available for free on:
The Cbeebies bedtime stories are also a great way to hear stories being read aloud:
