Week beginning Monday 16th May 2022
The children have continued to enjoy our planting theme this week. They have watched their sunflower seeds grow in their pots and will be taking them home to be transferred into a bigger pot eventually. The children have been singing our 'Parts of a plant' song each day and have learned the words and actions very quickly.
We visited the Year 1 classroom this week. They have baby chicks in an incubator. Some of the eggs have hatched and the children watched the baby chicks in the cardboard box. They were very quiet around the chicks and learned new facts about them.
Mrs Holland joined our pre-school staff on Thursday and it has been lovely getting to know her. The children showed Mrs Holland how kind they are to each other and taught her some of the pre-school rules. They showed her their amazing subitising skills, shape knowledge, phonics knowledge, artistic talents and many more skills that they have.
We have continued to spend as much time as possible outside and have enjoyed lots of activities including ball games, balancing, water play and golf. The children went up to the school hall to do our hall session on Friday. They played the traffic light game, did a yoga session and played games with the parachute.
We are so proud of the skills and knowledge that our children have gained. They amaze us each and every day!
