Week beginning 28/09/20
During this week, we have shared lots of stories. The children have enjoyed reading stories to themselves and each other. They have also listened to stories read by the teachers and on the interactive board. The most popular story this week has been 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt'. The children have joined in with the words and actions.
We have been exploring numbers and shapes. In particular, the children have been counting and sorting real objects and using number and shape programmes on the interactive board. They have been learning that the last number said when counting, relates to the number of objects they have. They have sorted shapes and learned about their similarities and differences.
We have lots of 'creative' children who enjoy collage, painting, printing etc. They are using lots of problem solving skills to create their work.
A very popular new addition to the pre-school this week has been the bubble machine! We have danced to music and had the bubble machine on at the same time. The children have taken part in music and movement activities and listened and responded to the instructions. A particular favourite was 'Sleeping Bunnies'.
We have spent time outside on the school field where children have been learning ball skills such as throwing and catching skills.
The children have enjoyed sharing their Tapestry photographs from home using the interactive board. Many families have uploaded photographs of their families (including pets) and given permission for them to go into a photo album. This has been very popular and the children have enjoyed looking through the photo album with their friends.
