Week Beginning 27.04.20

Dear Parents and Children,
We hope you continue to be well and healthy.  We have been enjoying using the See Saw app and it has been great to see your faces on photographs and also to see the fantastic work that you are doing at home!  Keep it up!

•    Mathematics
*Have a look at the key maths facts that we need to know by the end of the Summer Term (see the document saved on this class webpage).  Keep practising little and often as you have been doing so far this year.
*Complete one maths challenge per day – see separate ‘Maths Challenges’ document on this webpage.

•    English
*Keep up with the daily reading!  Read a range of texts and ask your grown up (or an older family member) to ask you questions about what you have read to develop your comprehension skills.
*Look at the English Learning document and choose an activity to do each day.
*Choose 6 common exception words that you know you find tricky – use the tricky word mat given to you at parents’ evening and go through Look, Cover, Write, Check as you normally do with spelling practise.  Please also find a copy on the class page.  Ask a family member to give you a spelling test to check how well you have learnt your chosen words!

•    Topic
*Look at these clues and link them together to discover which locality we will finding out about….

Please see the Topic Learning document to find out if you are correct and to read what we will be learning first about this place.

•    RE
*Familiarise yourself with the Easter Story.  Mary and Peter were two of the first people to discover the empty tomb, consider how they would have reacted to the news.  Write 5 questions which you could ask of Mary and Peter about what they experienced.  If you have a willing volunteer at home, maybe you could hot seat as Mary or Peter and explore the answers they would have given.
*Mary and Peter experienced a variety of emotions when they found the tomb and realised that Jesus had been resurrected.  Write a list of all the words you can think of to describe how they felt then with the help of your adult create a wordle / word cloud to display them.

•    PE – continue to stay fit and healthy!
