Week Beginning 15.06.19
Dear Parents and Children,
We hope you continue to be well and healthy. We are really enjoying seeing your home learning on SeeSaw, thank you for sharing what you are doing!
*To help build on your number fluency complete one set of maths starters each day. These are exactly like we would do in class. Remember, this should be a short task and if you need to make mental jottings that is fine. See the document saved below – Maths Daily Starters
* Work your way through the maths tasks set this week.
*Keep up with the daily reading! Remember to read a range of non-fiction, fiction and poetry. Ask your grown up (or an older family member) to ask you questions about what you have read to develop your comprehension skills.
*Look at the English Learning document and complete the activities.
*Focus on spelling patterns within words – should, would, could, shouldn’t, couldn’t, wouldn’t. Identify the familiar spelling pattern within the words and use this to learn how to spell them. Use the spelling strategy cards to help.
*Continue to practise your handwriting using the Kinetic Letter formation.
Look at the topic document which explains the topic home learning for the week.
Christ had promised His Apostles that He would sent His Holy Spirit, and, on Pentecost, they were granted the gifts of the Spirit. The Apostles began to preach the Gospel in all of the languages that the Jews who were gathered there spoke, and about 3,000 people were converted and baptized that day. That is why Pentecost is often called "the birthday of the Church." On Pentecost Sunday, when the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles, they were granted the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Those gifts helped them to fulfill their mission to preach the Gospel to all nations. For us, too, those gifts help us to live a Christian life.
The gifts of the Holy Spirit lead to the fruits of the Holy Spirit--works that we can only perform through the assistance of the Holy Spirit. Joy, love, peace, kindness, patience, goodness, trustfulness, self-control, and gentleness were some of the fruits of the Holy Spirit.
Use the discussion cards below to match the fruit of the spirit to a time when it was performed.
PE – continue to stay fit and healthy!
