Week beginning 10/01/22

Our new children are continuing to make new friends. The children have taken part in a lot of outdoor play this week. They have been on a 'welly walk' on the school field, played on the large wooden climbing equipment and played in the pre-school playground. They have developed skills when using the bats and balls, balance bikes and scooters. They also enjoyed playing in the mud kitchen.

The children made gingerbread playdough and also made and decorated gingerbread men. They remembered the words and Makaton signs for the story and songs and could represent numbers using their fingers.

The children have been very creative when drawing pictures on paper, whiteboards, chalkboards and the interactive board. They have particularly enjoyed printing their pictures from the interactive board.

Each child has an area of the display boards called 'My Space'. We display pieces of work and photographs showing the children's interests. When these are changed, the children take this work and their photographs home with them. Each 'My Space' is unique to the child and they enjoy choosing what to display.

The school guinea pigs visited pre-school this week. The children were very excited to see them, particularly the new children as they had not met them before. They are referred to as the 'guinea girls' and are called 'Oreo' and 'Snowdrop'.
