Week Beginning 04.05.20
Hello children and parents,
I hope you all had a fantastic weekend. Last week was another fantastic week on Seesaw and I am blown away by the amount of work you have all been completing, so well done! This weeks tasks are below and for history this week, we are going to be celebrating VE day (Friday 8th May). I hope you all have a wonderful week and enjoy the new tasks. I look forward to seeing your creations.
Phonics - please continue to use the phonics websites. I have also included a task below relating to split digraphs. If you are unable to print the task, feel free to create your own version.
Reading - Please keep up with your daily reading.
I have also included a comprehension task below related to Jack and the beanstalk.
Writing - Write a letter to a family member recounting your week at home/in school – don’t forget to use capital letters for the days of the week!
On Monday we….
Keep up with your daily practice of our Year 1 maths facts - counting in 2's, 5's and 10's, knowing number bonds to 20, adding one more/less to any given number.
Below is a document with daily maths starters and some tasks to try over the week - these can be done over a few days.
Continuing with the topic of Easter, create an Easter Garden using resources you can find around your home or garden. https://www.munchkintime.com/easter-garden-diy-tutorial-easter-activities-for-kids/ I have also included some pictures below.
May is also the month of Mary. I have included a PowerPoint below with some information about the Rosary. Maybe you could make or draw a rosary and say the Hail Mary together.
VE day is on Friday 8th May. Explore and discuss the importance of VE day - there is a PowerPoint added below to support the children's understanding. Create some bunting for a 'stay at home and celebrate party'. Explore some of the recipes and ideas from Bletchley Park on the following link:
Below is a sheet with pictures of various butterflies. Spend some time outside and see how many of them you can spot. I will be adding some exciting news to our Seesaw this week, so keep an eye out.
Whilst we can't get out and run around in the parks at the moment, keeping active is still really important. Cosmic yoga is a great website to use to keep your mind and body strong and healthy.
On the class pages webpage, Mrs Crane has created a music folder. This week she has uploaded some VE day music related activities. Please have a go at learning some of the songs and exploring some of the activities on the music page. Remember to upload any videos to Seesaw.
