Week 7

What an amazing Half Term we have had! We are so proud of our children and have really enjoyed getting to know our new children and families and welcoming back our returning families.

Our book focus this week has been 'The Rainbow Fish'. The children completed a wide range of activities including craft work, mark making activities and fishing for number fish. They thought about what being a good friend entails and showed a good understanding of the meaning of the story. We continued to talk about emotions, exploring how the Rainbow Fish and his friends felt at different parts of the story. Our song continued with this theme 'If You're Happy and you Know It.'

We have been supporting the children to develop their gross motor skills this half term. They have spent a lot of time outside running, climbing, balancing etc. and have taken part in yoga sessions to help them to gain control of their bodies. This has all had a big impact on our children's fine motor skills. The children have developed great pencil control and have been able to trace patterns and create recognisable drawings.

The children mixed cornflour with water and food colouring to make green gloop. They enjoyed watching it turn from a solid to a liquid.

Mrs Breakwell, Mrs Holland and I wish all our families a very happy Half Term break.
