Good morning Year 2
Please find today's home learning below:
Spelling, Punctuation & Grammar- You will continue to learn about the alternative spellings for the /air/ sound. You will need to look at the images in the table and think about what word it represents. Then record the word, using the correct spelling of the /air/ sound. Once you have done this, choose a word from each spelling group and write a sentence for each. Try to link your sentence using the conjunction if or when. I have modelled some examples on the sheet.
English/History- On the video and sheet attached below, I have shared with you some extracts taken from some non-fiction books based on the Titanic. You will need to think about the advantages of sailing on the Titanic, as these will persuade people to want to buy tickets. Record these advantages in the table provided.
Maths- Today you will be recapping on how to add two 2-digit numbers using partitioning. We did this before Christmas, so you may remember this when you see the example modelled. You will need to use this method to solve the calculations. There is also a problem solving question, where you will need to explain why the boy’s method is wrong. Use the partitioning method to model the correct working out.
Science- There is a link to this week’s science lesson. This is the next lesson in our ‘materials’ learning. I have provided an activity for you to do as well, where you will need to test out different actions on a group of objects.
I hope you have a great day of learning.
