Dear Year 3,
I hope you are all well and safe at home. I miss you all!
Please see below for some learning to be getting on with at home. I have uploaded a welcome video and a daily story time for you to enjoy, but please accept my apologies for some technical difficulties! Spot the mistake with the book I hold up...
English - Have a go at the spelling activity using apostrophes to spell contracted words.
On Monday we revealed the front cover of our new novel. Think back to everything that we discussed using the clues on the front cover. Record your questions about the story in the speech bubbles. Record your predictions for what will happen in the story in the thought bubbles. Remember to write in full sentences.
Maths - we are starting a unit of work to practise addition and subtraction skills. We will begin today by partitioning 3 digit numbers in different ways using our place value knowledge and writing these with the matching addition & subtraction number sentences. Look through the power point slideshow first and then complete the learning below.
Geography - in preparation for our next topic, see what you can recall about continents and oceans of the world. If you cannot print off the attached map, see if you can label it on screen or use an atlas / world map to identify the name of the 7 continents and 5 oceans. What do you know a bout each continent?
I look forward to hearing from you soon & seeing some of your home learning.
