Spring 1 2023 - Week 5

We have had some new resources in pre-school recently which the children have enjoyed playing with. They include magnets, scales and several aiming and predicting games. We have been exploring weights and measures and the children have been learning new mathematical language.

Our story focus this week was 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt'. The children enjoyed acting this out and reciting the words. Our song of the week was 'Wind the Bobbin Up'.

We have been moving some furniture and resources around pre-school both inside and out which the children have enjoyed. They have been very engaged in their play and have shown that they have fantastic imaginations thinking of new ways to use our loose part resources such as shells, drainpipes, stones etc.

The children took part in key group time where they worked with their key person in small groups. This is something that the children do twice a day. They have really enjoyed these sessions which focus on specific teaching and learning objectives.

We were invited to watch the Year R children do a Chinese Dragon dance in the school hall. The pre-school children really enjoyed this. We also spent time playing outside with the Year R children which was lots of fun!
