SeaCity Museum

Year 2 visited the SeaCity Museum in Southampton, to learn more about the local links that we share with one of the most famous ships in history.

We explored the Titanic exhibition and looked at the many artefacts on display.  There were lots of interactive parts too, for example shovelling the coal into the fires, and steering a ship.

In the afternoon, we had a workshop, which involved handling artefacts similar to those that were on the Titanic, as well as other activities, including a scientific experiment linked to the watertight doors and a philosophical debate to decide who should secure a seat on the lifeboat.

The following day, we sequenced photographs of our trip and wrote our own recount.
