RE Catholic Social Teaching
This half term, we have been exploring Catholic Social Teaching. OUr focus has been on "Solidarity and the Common Good."Solidarity is based on the belief that we are all responsible for one another because we all belong to the human family created and loved by God. At the heart of the idea of solidarity, is the understanding that we must take care of each other, unite against anything that harms another, work for peace and justice.
Key Question:
Who is my Neighbour?
We explored the message in the parable of the Good Samaritan.
We considered who Jesus would refer to if he told the parable in today's world.
We discussed who our neighbour is and what can stop someone from being a good neighbour. We used St Paul's Letter to the Corinthians (Corinthians 12:12-26), to help us understand who our neighbour is.
In order to understand what we can do to bring about change, we explored the vision conveyed by Pope Francis in the Fratelli Tutti.
To share our understanding and our committment to making our world a better place, we worked in groups to respond to Fratelli Tutti through prayer.
