Pre-School - Week beginning Monday 1st March 2021
During this week the children have taken part in a wide range of activities including lots of sensory play with sand, water and the mud kitchen.
As we have had better weather this week, the children have enjoyed spending more time outside in the pre-school playground, on the school field and in the adventure playground. They have been practising skills such as balancing, cycling and throwing and catching. The children made their own assault course and thought of creative ways to use the resources.
One of the children came in dressed as her favourite book character 'Where's Wally'. She shared her books with her friends and Mrs Ray and Mrs Cantillon read the stories. The children enjoyed finding Wally in the books and on the interactive board.
Miss Lea, the Reception teacher, visited the children in pre-school. She did some activities with the children to develop their pre-writing and writing skills. The children listened well and enjoyed showing Miss Lea how they could make marks on the paper and form some recognisable letters whilst discussing the letter sounds. Miss Lea reminded the children how important it was to build their muscles in their shoulders, arms and body to help them to become good writers.
