Living and Non-Living Investigation
Our science unit this half term is: Living Things and their Habitats.
In our first session we discussed the differences between living and non-living, and learnt about the 7 life processes.
We then took our learning outside, and went on a hunt for things that were living, non-living and once living. We sorted these items into 3 labelled trays. Many of us discovered lots of small green bugs on one of the tree trunks. We did some research and found out they are called ‘aphids, which are small sap-sucking insects. We also found what looked like a tiny red spider, but upon further research, we learnt it was actually a ‘clover mite’. Once we had collected lots of items for each category, we recorded our findings in our book.
