Journalistic Writing

Using our class text, 1000 year old boy by Ross Welford, as inspirtation, Year 6 are working on a learning journey culminating in a newspaper article. As part of this, they are: looking at high quality models; finding precise vocabulary; identifying specific layout features; using informal and formal language structures when appropriate; analysing and evaluating the effectiveness of their writing; and becoming Copy Editors to eliminate errors!
