Island Escape Topic Homework

The topic homework this term was Island Escape, which was linked to our novel The Wreck of the Zanzibar.  The most popular choice of homework proved to be the science option, which involved designing and building a model ship that would be able to float.  There were lots of fantastic designs and the children had considered whether the materials were waterproof and not too weighty.

Other children chose the art option.  This involved choosing an artist who used water as a theme and then creating a piece of artwork inspired by the artist’s style.  Lots of beautiful artwork was produced, and it was lovely to see the children’s creativity shine.  Another popular choice was geography.  Children researched one of the Scilly Islands and then produced their own tourist brochure.

Well done to all of the children who completed their homework and handed it in on time.  You did an excellent job and I can’t wait to see your next piece of topic homework J

For his topic homework, Jasper wrote his own sea shanty.
He then performed it to the class.
