We explored the work of Giorgio Morandi, a still life artist. He was an Italian painter and printmaker who specialised in still life. His work was known for the subtlety of simple objects such as vases, bottles, bowls, flowers and landscapes.
We have experimented with ways in which surface detail can be added to drawings, sketching lightly and using shading to show light and dark.
