Forest School Autumn 1
The children are thoroughly enjoying Forest School this half term. Despite the weather they have been out exploring the school grounds in relation to our science topic 'Animals and their habitats'. They have looked for signs of wildlife growing on our school field and have found acorns, sloe berries and blackberries. They begin each session looking for hazards which they then mark with red flags to make others aware. The fire circle is an important area which they must ensure is free from debris and suitable for use. They do this using their gardening gloves. Once all debris has been cleared they revisit how to stay safe around a fire and the rules for using the fire pit. The children have shown how responsible they are and have taken to this well.
