DT - Structures 07.02.20
The children used their knowledge gathered from scientific exploration of materials, to discuss in groups what the structure for a wolf could look like and be made of. They looked at ideas for inspiration, then together they planned ideas to design a structure.
In their groups the children labelled the plan with the materials needed. They then ensured that the design meet the success criteria for a wolf's home that they decided on as a class. The children needed to justify their choices of materials with reasons linked to their science, thinking about the characteristics and properties of each material. It has been important to share ideas as a class that could help some groups to improve their designs and try to overcome any challenges.
