Anzac Biscuits
As part of our ‘Australian Adventure’ topic, we learnt about a very important day for Australia and New Zealand; Anzac Day. This is a special time to remember all those who have served and lost their lives in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations. We discovered that it was first introduced to honour the men who fought in Gallipoli in WW1.
We had the opportunity to make some Anzac biscuits, which are made using rolled oats. It is believed, that these biscuits were sent by wives and women’s groups to soldiers abroad, to keep their spirits up.
