To celebrate the Queen's Golden Jubilee, we had a 1950s day. We arrived to school dressed in clothing from that era and 1950s music welcomed us as we entered the classroom. Throughout the day, we learnt more about this decade, including the type of food and drink that was available, popular music, fashion and important events. We then created a 1950s fact file to show what we had learnt. We learnt some popular dances from the 50s, including the 'Bunny Hop' and 'The Hand Jive'. We had lots of fun learning the moves, but at first found it very tricky to keep up with the music! Later, we made crowns for our Jubilee party in the afternoon. It was a fantastic day, which we will hopefully remember in years to come!
