School Games Day
Thank you to everyone who contributed to make our School Games Day a success! We were blessed with wonderful weather which always helps!
Throughout the entire school there were competitive events and everyone demonstrated true sportsmanship! With such a variety of events on offer, everyone found themselves succeeding at a particular event but also challenged by another. Approaching these challenges with a growth mind-set allowed everyone to rise to the challenge and try their very best, especially for the long distance run! Big congratulations to Year 6 who had to complete 4 gruelling laps.
After the carousel of events, the sprints and relay races took place and were as fiercely competitive as always. The highlight of these races is always the house relays in which a child from each year group takes part. After an even start from KS1, King managed to take the lead and hold off any challenges to claim the win!
A very enjoyable day for all. Thank you to all of the parents for coming and supporting, it really is a unique and special day. We hope to see you all again next year!
The Golden Mile - the First 10 KM!
These children are the first to receive the Bronze Award. All of these children have completed 10 miles in less than 4 weeks, a brilliant effort! We hope to see lots more of these awards around school very soon.
The Silver Award is achieved by completing 25 miles so get running . ..
During the last 2 weeks, we have seen pupils from Year 2, 3, 4 ,5 and 6 sent out to represent St Jude's in Benchball (Y2) and Tag Rugby (Y3-6). All competitors showed great sportsmanship throughout their competition and were great ambassadors for the school. It seems we may have some Rugby stars of the future in Year 4!
Hampshire School Games
On Thursday 30th June, a team of Year 6 pupils had the honour of representing not only our school, but of the entire Fareham area, at the Hampshire School Games. Travelling to Aldershot to compete, they supported each other superbly and gave truly outstanding sporting performances.
Sports Day 2016
Friday 24th June saw all of KS1 and KS2 take to the school field to take part in a range of sporting events. Competitors were put through their paces with egg balancing, goalie beating, sack racing, cricket ball bowling and a variety of running events and relays. All pupils were earning points for their house as they rotated round the activities. The morning of activities culminated in some track sprints, with even some mums and dads competing!
