Mystery Guests - November

Remembrance Day

What an important day this was, marking 100 years since the end of the First World War.  The children each made a poppy to be displayed at the front entrance.  We all went for a minutes silence on the 11th November and listened to the Last Post by one of the parents.  It was a very special occasion. To help us prepare for it, we had two very special mystery guests in to tell us what it means to them.

One of the Dad's showed us how to stand at ease.  They explained how they had been preparing for this important event on Remembrance Sunday and what they would be thinking about on the day.  We looked at their uniforms and and they explained how and why they were different.  It gave the children  a great opportunity to hear about why it's important to someone in our armed Forces.

Our Next Mystery Guest

Our next mystery Guest was another Dad.  He brought his guitar and came to teach us some songs with actions.  He works at a Church in Southsea so the songs were all about how much God loves us.   All the children loved joining in, and we quickly learned the new songs.  It made it really special hearing his guitar too.
