Facilities and Funding

St Jude’s is an exciting and stimulating school based setting led by highly qualified Early Years staff. Our nursery is located within our Key Stage 1 area which consists of two rooms and an outdoor area. The children are encouraged to use both indoor and outdoor learning environments throughout the year. We also have access to the school grounds both playing fields and playgrounds.

Funding

Early Years Education (EYE) entitlement for two year old children

Your child may be eligible to receive 15 hours per week of EYE entitlement from Hampshire County Council for 38 weeks per year. This equates to 570 hours per year and can be claimed during Hampshire term dates from the term after your child’s second birthday.

To find out if your child is eligible, please use the link below.

Early Years Education (EYE) entitlement for three and four year old children

Your child will be eligible to receive 15 hours per week of free EYE entitlement from Hampshire County Council for 38 weeks per year from the term after your child’s third birthday.

Your child may be eligible to receive 30 hours per week of EYE entitlement from the term after their third birthday. The additional 15 hours is available to families where both parents are working (or the sole parent is working in a lone parent family). Each parent must earn, on average, a weekly minimum equivalent to 16 hours at national minimum wage (NMW) or national living wage (NLW), and less than £100,000 per year. ‘Working’ will include employed and self-employed persons. Parents do not necessarily need to actually work 16 hours a week, but rather their earnings must reflect at least 16 hours of work at NMW or NLW. This includes those parents on zero contract hours who meet the criteria.

To check if you will be eligible to receive up to 30 hours funding per week, please use the following link:

If you would like your child to attend Jumping Jacks Nursery for more than their free entitlement, you will be charged at a rate of £5.00 per hour.

Free taster visits will be available to ensure a smooth transition.

All children will be allocated a Key person where they will be allocated a dedicated member of staff.

Healthy lunches are cooked on site at a cost of £2.30 a day. Alternatively, you can provide your child with a healthy packed lunch.

Tapestry

All children attending Jumping Jacks Nursery have a personal online Learning Journal (Tapestry account) where photographs, videos, observations and assessments are recorded.
